Specialist support for the symptoms of multiple sclerosis — nerve pain, spasticity, stiffness, fatigue and sleep — alongside your neurology care.
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a long-term condition in which the immune system mistakenly attacks the protective myelin sheath that surrounds nerves in the brain and spinal cord. This disrupts the signals travelling along those nerves, which can lead to a wide range of symptoms that vary greatly from one person to another.
The Pain Clinic does not treat MS itself — that remains firmly the role of your neurology team, who oversee disease-modifying care. What we focus on is the day-to-day burden many people with MS carry: nerve pain, muscle spasticity and stiffness, painful spasms, fatigue and broken sleep. These symptoms can affect quality of life as much as the condition itself.
Our multidisciplinary team works alongside your specialist, never in place of them. With full clinical oversight, we aim to ease symptoms, support function and help you feel more in control of how MS affects your everyday life.

MS-related pain and spasticity can be complex and difficult to settle with standard painkillers alone. They often involve the nervous system itself, which calls for an approach that looks beyond conventional analgesics and considers the whole picture — movement, sleep, mood and daily function.
At The Pain Clinic, our pain specialists, physiotherapists, psychotherapist and wider team coordinate care around your symptoms while your neurologist continues to lead your disease management. Many patients tell us that having dedicated, joined-up support for the symptom burden of MS helps them cope better day to day.
Our approach is collaborative and individual. We build a supportive plan around your symptoms, always working in step with the specialist who manages your MS.
We support symptoms, we do not replace your MS care. Your neurology team continues to lead disease management while we coordinate around the pain, spasticity, fatigue and sleep that affect everyday life.
MS pain often stems from disrupted nerve signalling, and muscle stiffness can compound it. We consider therapies and movement strategies that may help calm these symptoms, with full clinical oversight throughout.
Living with MS affects sleep, energy and wellbeing. Our multidisciplinary team looks at the wider picture — rest, gentle movement and emotional support — to help you feel steadier day to day.
If nerve pain, spasticity, fatigue or disrupted sleep are affecting your daily life, our team can offer supportive care alongside your neurologist. Book a consultation to talk through how we may be able to help.
