PTSD is a recognised condition that follows trauma. Our multidisciplinary team in Malta offers trauma-informed, compassionate support.

Post-traumatic stress disorder can develop after experiencing or witnessing a frightening or life-threatening event. It is a recognised response to trauma, not a sign of weakness - the nervous system can stay primed for danger long after the threat has passed.
Common features include flashbacks and intrusive memories, nightmares and disrupted sleep, hypervigilance, and avoidance of anything that brings the trauma to mind. These symptoms can affect mood, relationships, concentration and physical health, and they often appear alongside anxiety, low mood or persistent pain.
If flashbacks, nightmares, hypervigilance or avoidance are affecting your sleep, relationships, work or sense of safety - or if you find yourself using alcohol or other substances to cope - it may help to talk to someone. Reaching out is a positive step, and our team can help you understand what you are experiencing and explore ways forward at your own pace. If you ever feel unsafe or have thoughts of harming yourself, please contact your doctor or local emergency services straight away.
We lead with psychotherapy and a multidisciplinary team - including a psychiatrist, psychotherapist and pain specialists - so your care is coordinated around you. The aim is to help you feel safer and more in control, working at a pace that feels manageable. We support your symptoms and wellbeing alongside, not instead of, any mental-health care you already have.
Talking therapy led by our psychotherapist and psychiatrist, grounded in safety, trust and gentle pacing. Some patients find it helps them process difficult memories and loosen their grip on daily life.
Practical mindfulness, breathing and grounding techniques that can help calm hyperarousal and bring a greater sense of steadiness when symptoms feel overwhelming.
Guidance on sleep, movement, nutrition and routine - helping with the disrupted sleep, exhaustion and physical strain that so often accompany PTSD, and supporting overall resilience.
Where symptoms have not responded to first-line care, more specialised options may be considered for treatment-resistant cases - always after thorough assessment and only with full clinical oversight.
These options may include Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy and medical cannabis, both available only after careful assessment and with full clinical oversight.
Recovering from trauma takes time, and you do not have to do it alone. Book a one-hour consultation with our team to talk things through in confidence and shape a compassionate, coordinated plan at a pace that suits you. You can also call us on +356 2166 6903 - we are here to help.
